EXPLORING THE BEACHES OF PANAMA

In this section, we will describe the requirements for a Pensioner’s Visa. Such Visa gives the foreign pensioners such rights as non-payment of deposits or migrating rights, tax exonerations for the import of personal articles up to US$10,000.00, as well as for the importation of an automobile destined for personal use (every 2 years).

There are six different ways in Panama to get a legal resident status.

Pensioners
Investing Immigrants
Resident Dependent Immigrants
Immigrants Married to Panamanians
Immigrants by Ministry of Labor Resolutions
Immigrants with self sufficiency status

Requirements for a Pentioner Visa:

The application must be made through a lawyer with a Power of Attorney. According to the “Tarifa Legal” published from the Lawyers College of Panama (http://www.cnapanama.com/tarifa.htm) the charge for such service should range between $1,500 and $2,000.

Medical Certificate of Good Health issued by a Panamanian doctor within 3 months prior to the application.

In case of dependents, US$100.00 must be added to the payment for each of the dependants.

Evidence of dependents’ kinship (marriage and/or birth certificates).

Responsibility letter from pensioners towards each of the dependents.

All dependents must comply with all requirements requested for the pensioner.
